Mary Catterall came to Port Macquarie from Sydney in 1972 and she and husband Barry owning and operating motels but always loved coming down to Lake Cathie to relax the few times they had a spare minute. Mary worked as a receptionist for Budgens Chartered Accountants and attended TAFE to qualify as a Licensed Real Estate Agent, Business Agent and Stock & Station Agent with Distinctions.

In 1994 Mary & Barry opened a real estate office in Lake Cathie and sold the business in 2000 but Mary stayed on successfully enjoying looking after her old and new clients and now Mary is close to her 1000 mark in sales
